NOWFE MOVES TO NEW SPRING WEEKEND 2019

Dates set for chefs, connoisseurs and gourmands to gather in the New Orleans


 

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – The Board of Directors of the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience (NOWFE) is excited to announce new dates for the 2019 event. Previously held over the Memorial Day weekend in May, organizers have moved the event to an earlier springtime date, April 3 – 7, 2019.

“April in New Orleans is the ideal time for a festival,” states Gail Varuso, incoming NOWFE President.  “The weather is beautiful—making it optimal for activities like wining and dining al fresco, strolling through the French Quarter, and visiting New Orleans’ cultural destinations. When the proposal of moving NOWFE to April was discussed, it was an unanimous decision, and we think our attendees will be delighted!” NOWFE events take place right in the heart of the city, where guests can enjoy the wine and food, shopping, live entertainment, art galleries and museums, and more.  “Several of our events take place outdoors and we believe this earlier date will attract more people to those events while enjoying the perfect weather,” states Aimee Brown, NOWFE Executive Director. “Plans for our 2019 seminars and experiences are currently underway and will be announced as soon as they are finalized.”

In 2018, NOWFE committed proceeds to Nunez Community College Culinary Arts Program. Over NOWFE’s 26-year history, it has donated more than $1.2 Million to local non-profit organizations.

 

For more than 26 years the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience has showcased the culinary excellence in our community alongside national and international wines at wine dinners in many of the city’s finest restaurants; at VINOLA, a premium tasting event; at the iconic Royal Street Stroll; at dozens of culinary seminars and demonstrations; at the Big Gateaux Show; and ultimately at the Grand Tastings.
